Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, karma, life, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. ~ Steve Jobs

Snuggle Bunnies

This just might be my new favorite picture of
The Queen Bee
and
The Boyfriend.
~
This picture also serves as evidence
that my children ARE capable of getting along
{when one of them is sleeping}
~
Isabelle does well playing the part of
"Little Mother"
when Thomas is feeling
under the weather.

Between me and Isabelle,
Thomas doesn't mind the double attention
and extra pampering one bit!

Patriotic Program

Today was Isabelle's First Grade Patriotic Program at school. The first graders have been working so hard on this program for months!

The children sang an array of patriotic songs such as:

The Star Spangled Banner
You're a Grand Old Flag
Yankee Doodle
My Country 'Tis of Thee
This Land is Your Land
God Bless America

{Isabelle with best friend Riley}

After the program my mom and dad wanted to see Isabelle's classroom and where she sits at school, so Isabelle gave us a tour.

{Love. Love. LOVE The Boyfriend!}

Hooray for the red, white and blue today Isabelle!
I think you have made us all very excited for summer
{July in particular!}
You were a STAR performer in your Patriotic Program!
We are so proud of you!!

Moms & Muffins

{Isabelle. Me. Thomas}

Today at Isabelle's elementary school was 'Moms & Muffins.'

Isabelle was super excited for 'Mom's and Muffin's' all week. This is our second year in a row going together, it's a special tradition we look forward to each February! For breakfast we had MUFFINS {blueberry} and chocolate milk. While we ate we read Isabelle's two favorite books ~ Junie B. Jones and Rapunzel. We sat with Izzie's friends Lindsay and Zoey ~ what a fun way for us to start off our day!

{The most beautiful girl in the world}

Two things I learned from these pictures in this post:
1. I really need to grow my bangs out, ASAP
2. My children wear a lot of red
     {I love red. It's my favorite color.}

Queen of Hearts

{Isabelle with friends, about to take a giant bite out of her cookie!}

I am completely convinced that there is no better place to celebrate holidays than in elementary school classrooms. For real. Halloween? Unbelievably fun. Christmas? Awesome. Valentine's Day? Lovely!

Today the Queen Bee was the Queen of Hearts! Isabelle loves, loves Valentine's Day! She wore a dress that spelled "LOVE" in pink sequins, she wore a pink headband, pink leggings, and pink sparkly ballet flats {like her mom!} with gems and a bow on the toe. After much contemplation, Isabelle finally settled on passing out Barbie Valentine's with heart-shaped suckers to her classmates.

Everything about Isabelle Grace on Valentine's Day was lovely.

This afternoon Thomas and I went to Isabelle's school to help with her Valentine's Day party. Such fun! Thomas and I brought heart-shaped sugar cookies with red frosting and sprinkles. The kids played Valentine's Day BINGO, made an I love you craft to take home, and exchanged Valentine's.

:: It was the perfect way
to spend Valentine's Day! ::

King of Hearts

Today was Thomas' HEARTS DAY preschool party! Ever since I can remember, my children have called Valentine's Day "Hearts Day," and after Halloween, it is their favorite holiday! Lots of pink and red this month!!

It was fun to help with Thomas' Valentine's party ~ the kids had cupcakes, were read a Clifford Valentine's Day story, they exchanged Valentine's {Thomas brought Thor cards that I we taped onto boxes of Sweetheart candies}, played a game with conversation hearts, and they made Valentine's Day crowns.

Thomas is the KING OF HEARTS!!

{Valentie's cupcake ~ yum!}

{Valentine's story}

Thomas today after we got home from preschool:

Thomas: Mom, I have sooo many friends! Today I got 11 Valentine's! I have sooo many friends!

{Yes Thomas, you do. Everyone loves you! And you look cute in red too. That is why you have a closet full of it ~ and it is also my favorite color. You are my favorite boy!  I love you, my little King of Hearts!}

Cool In The Pool

In an attempt to make ourselves at least feel like it's summer, Thomas and Isabelle have been spending a lot of time at the swimming pool. Already natural born swimmers, the children are improving their talent by taking swimming lessons! They are both in level 4 ~ pros! Thomas is the youngest swimmer in the class, but he can do everything the big kids can do!

I'm pretty confident that if my children were able to morph into sea creatures, Isabelle would immediately become a mermaid and Thomas would turn into Nemo.

They both LOVE the water!!

The highlight of swimming lessons is Thomas and Isabelle get to wear the cool new swim goggles that Grandma and Grandpa {my mom and dad} bought for them. Pink for Isabelle {or course!} and clear for Thomas.

What's also exciting is that after swim lessons Thomas and Isabelle get to stay for open swim when the waves are turned on and the giant inflatable obstacle course is brought out!

Isabelle & Thomas are so very
 "cool in the pool!"

Double the Birthday Fun!

{Isabelle & Aunt Stephanie ~ TWINS!!}

THE BEST part of Isabelle and Aunt Stephanie having "twin" birthdays is that on our designated day of celebration we have double the cupcakes, double the birthday presents, and double the fun!

Today Thomas, Isabelle and I had Sunday {birthday!} dinner at my mom and dad's house to celebrate Isabelle and Stephanie's special day. We had oriental chicken, red potatoes, green beans, broccoli salad AND confetti birthday cupcakes made by super-chef Stacie.

For Thomas, the cupcakes were the best part of Sunday dinner!

BARBIE CLOTHES! THE FANCY DRESSES KIND!

Do birthday presents get any more exciting than this?

No!!

For Stephanie's birthday she got a wooden case to display all her thimbles in. Since forever, Stephanie has been collecting thimbles from all around the world. She has quite an extensive collection, and now she will have a beautiful way to display them!

Sorry you had to find out this way Patrick...

I love my sisters!

{And I love Indiana Bones too}

Today was a fun night of birthday celebrating for Isabelle and Stephanie! It's so special that Isabelle shares her birthday with her favorite aunt!

Happy Double Birthdays Izzie and Stephanie!!
